Insect-eating Pitcher Plants Will Eat Salamanders, Too

Pitcher plants are known to eat insects and spiders, but researchers in Canada have discovered that they will eat small vertebrates, too. Salamanders can also be a part of their diet. I guess it's not that pitcher plants have a particular taste for the little creatures, but once they fall into the trap, apparently there's no getting out. Read more about it at Science Daily.
