Here’s the freshest update for Michigan gardeners coming out of the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens, part of the university’s botanic outreach:

In late spring 2025, Matthaei Botanical Gardens reopened its outdoor display gardens and trails for free daily visits, offering a lush tapestry of native perennials, whimsical sculptures, and seasonal refreshing spots perfect for both inspiration and education. While they haven’t announced new programming yet, the Gardens remain a cornerstone for horticultural enthusiasts and educators alike, encouraging summer strolls and hands-on inspiration. For maps, plant highlights, and seasonal blooming guides, their site is regularly updated.
