Why You’ll Love It

Turn an open patch into a colorful flowering landscape.

Earthwise’s Southeast Wildflower Meadow Mix brings together cosmos, coreopsis, coneflowers, Indian blanket, and other flowers for a varied display of colors, textures, and heights.

Use it to create a sunny flower border, a meadow-style garden, or a dedicated flowering area where plants have room to grow and visiting pollinators can explore.

The blend includes native and introduced species, with no added grass seed.

Where It Grows Best

Growth & Flowering

Expected Height: Approximately 8–60 inches across the included species. Taller flowers, including cosmos, add height above the shorter blooms.

Germination: Some annuals may begin emerging in about 1–4 weeks under suitable conditions. Perennial emergence can continue later, and some species benefit from a period of cool, moist conditions.

Flowering: Expect different species to bloom at different times. Your display will develop with the seasons, and some longer-lived flowers may take more than one growing season to reach flowering maturity.

Planting & Care

  1. Prepare the area. Remove existing grass and weeds, then create a smooth, firm seedbed.
  2. Spread the seed. Broadcast evenly at the recommended application rate. Lightly rake or press seed into the soil surface.
  3. Keep moisture consistent. Water gently during germination and establishment. Provide supplemental water during extended dry periods.
  4. Maintain the planting. Remove competing weeds while small and plan for seasonal cleanup or cutting as needed.

Allow flowers to grow through their blooming cycle rather than maintaining the area at lawn height.
