Sarracenia ‘Wilkerson’s White Knight’ is a remarkable pitcher plant prized for its tall, luminous traps and striking white coloration. The elegant upright pitchers display bright white upper portions heavily marked with intricate red veining, creating a dramatic contrast that makes the plant stand out even among other spectacular Sarracenia. The broad hood and tall trumpet-shaped pitchers give it a refined, almost heraldic appearance in the bog garden.

Like other North American pitcher plants, the tubular leaves function as sophisticated insect traps. Nectar and vivid coloration lure insects to the lip of the pitcher, where they slip into the tube and are digested in the fluid within. This fascinating adaptation allows the plant to thrive in nutrient-poor bog soils where few other plants can survive.

During the growing season, Sarracenia ‘Wilkerson’s White Knight’ produces a bold display of tall pitchers that rise above the mossy surface of the bog. The bright white tops glow in the sunlight and create a striking focal point in carnivorous plant collections, outdoor bog gardens, and container bog planters. In early spring, graceful nodding flowers appear before the new pitchers emerge.

Growing Conditions

A truly huge moorei! Produces a few traps a year but they are ones to be remembered.
