Sarracenia - Leah Wilkerson x Royal Ruby

Sarracenia leucophylla ‘Leah Wilkerson’ × Sarracenia rubra ‘Royal Ruby’ is a bold and colorful hybrid that blends the tall, elegant form of the famous ‘Leah Wilkerson’ pitcher plant with the rich ruby tones of ‘Royal Ruby’. The resulting pitchers are upright and graceful, often flushed with deep red along the throat and upper tube, while the hood displays striking veining that glows in bright sunlight.

Like its parent species, this hybrid thrives in full sun and consistently wet, acidic soil. The pitchers attract insects with nectar and vivid coloration; once inside, the insects are naturally trapped and digested, supplying nutrients the plant cannot obtain from the nutrient-poor soils of its native bog habitat.

Vigorous and visually impressive, this hybrid produces strong clumps of tall pitchers that add height and dramatic color to bog gardens, container bogs, and carnivorous plant collections.
