Rhipsalis cereuscula - Coral Cactus, Mistletoe Cactus
Rhipsalis Cereuscula: A Little Cascade of Coral-Like Stems
Add a delicate branching shape with Rhipsalis cereuscula. Clusters of short, green stem segments give this cactus a coral-like texture, while older stems can drape gracefully over a container's edge.
- 🌿 Coral-like branching creates a finely textured display
- 💚 Small cylindrical segments give the stems a rice-like appearance
- 🌱 Arching growth can become gently trailing with age
- 🪴 Hanging-planter appeal shows off the layered stems
- ☀️ Filtered-light preference suits a bright, sheltered spot
Choose a raised pot where the branching stems have room to drape. This forest cactus brings a softer shape to a succulent collection.
Care Tips
Light: Provide bright indirect light or outdoor partial shade. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
Water: Water moderately when the upper mix dries. Drain well, reduce watering during slower growth, and avoid prolonged complete drought.
Soil: Use an airy, well-draining mix with fine bark and perlite.
Potting: Choose a pot with drainage holes and repot when the roots need more room.
Humidity: Provide good airflow and avoid persistently damp foliage.
Temperature: Keep warm and protect from frost and cold drafts.
