Coreopsis Li’l Bang™ ‘Red Elf’ is a compact burst of summer color, a tidy little perennial that keeps its place and earns it. Low, dense, and well-behaved, it forms a neat mound just 8–12 inches tall and wide—ideal for edging, containers, and the front of a sunny border where lesser plants tend to sprawl and wander.

Its flowers are a rich, velvety red with a warm golden eye at the center, blooming freely from early summer well into fall. Unlike older coreopsis that fade in the heat or grow leggy by midsummer, ‘Red Elf’ holds its form and keeps flowering with a quiet persistence—no fuss, no theatrics, just steady color when the garden needs it most.

Give it full sun and well-drained soil, and it will thrive where many perennials falter. It tolerates heat, humidity, and dry spells once established, making it well-suited for Southern gardens and leaner soils. Deadheading will encourage even more blooms, though it will carry on respectably without much attention.

Pollinators—especially bees and butterflies—find it easily, drawn to its open form and long season of bloom. Deer tend to pass it by.

Use it where discipline and color are both required: along paths, in mixed borders, tucked into containers, or massed for a low, glowing drift of red. It doesn’t clamor for attention—but it never disappears, either.
