Augrabies Hills: Fine, Grass-Like Leaves from Clustering Bulbs

Albuca polyphylla 'Augrabies Hills' has very fine, fleshy leaves that create an airy tuft above its bulbs. Its delicate foliage makes a distinctive contrast to broad-leaved succulents.

• 🌾 Fine foliage: Slender leaves give the plant a grass-like appearance.
• 🧅 Clustering bulbs: Offsets can gradually build a fuller group.
• 🌼 Slender flowers: Pale greenish-white flowers with yellow accents may appear on thin stalks.

Care Tips

Light: Provide bright light and gentle sun. Give light shade in intense summer heat.

Water: Water when the mix dries during active leafy growth. If heat or dryness brings leaf loss and rest, cut back strongly and resume with new growth. It may remain leafy with suitable year-round conditions.

Soil: Use a freely draining mix with organic material and plentiful mineral grit or pumice.

Temperature: Protect from frost and freezing weather; bring containers under cover before cold conditions arrive.

Use a well-draining potting mix suited to the plant, as described in the Care Tips above. Choose a container with drainage holes and avoid leaving roots in waterlogged soil.

Allow the soil to dry to the level recommended in the Care Tips above before watering again. Always drain excess water.

Weather Conditions

• When ordering, be mindful that living succulents can freeze. If you live in an area that is below 40°F, please consider purchasing plant until the weather is more suitable.
