Monarch Butterflies are now officially endangered

 

Fox News, among many other outlets, posted that the Monarch butterfly is now officially on the endangered species list. "The International Union for the Conservation of Nature added the migrating monarch butterfly for the first time to its 'red list' of threatened species and categorized it as 'endangered' — two steps from extinct."

Wildflowers Help Fruit and Vegetable Pollinators

 

Karla Arboleda recently published an article in Vegetable and Specialty Crop News, Wildflowers Help Watermelon Pollinators. In it, she reports, on conclusions reached by Miriam Jenkins, a graduate of Clemson University’s Wildlife and Fisheries Biology program. "For greater fruit quantity and quality, growers can use wildflowers to attract watermelon pollinators."
