gCaptain: US Ignored Own Scientists’ Warning in Backing Atlantic Wind Farm

An article by Jennifer A Dlouhy appearing in gCaptain (maritime news) reveals that the U.S. ignored its own scientists' warning in backing the construction of a wind farm in the Atlantic Ocean. The wind farm is just off the coast of Rhode Island and threatens the Southern New England Cod. Cod populations have diminished in recent years prompting calls for a moratorium on commercial and recreational fishing of this iconic species. Wind projects could also imperil North Atlantic Right Whales.

Now the US says it will try to mitigate the damage and do better next time in other contested areas, possibly even offering financial compensation with your tax dollars, of course.
