Comments: Laurentia fluviatilis (aka Isotoma fluviatilis, Pratia pedunculata, Lobelia fluviatilis, Pratia puberula), also known as Blue Star Creeper, Swamp Isotome, Matted Pratia, is a wonderful lawn substitute. Tiny green leaves form a low, dense mat. Foliage is evergreen in warmer climates, semi-evergreen in cooler ones. Small, light blue flowers bloom from spring to fall.

Mature height is 3 inches. Blue Star Creeper spreads to 18 inches. It tolerates a little foot traffic, but bear in mind that foliage and stems that spread over the edges of hard surfaces will be crushed if mashed. This is an excellent ground cover solution for any size area. Blue Star Creeper is perfect around patios and between stepping stones. It works well as a lawn substitute or green roof plant.
