Pachysandra thrives in partial shade to full shade in USDA climate zones 4 to 9, but will tolerate some sun in cooler climates. It prefers rich, loamy, well-drained soil with pH ranging from 4.5 to 6.0, and is drought-tolerant when established. Space Pachysandra approximately 12 inches to 16 inches apart.
