Candytuft - Iberis sempervirens 'Purity' - is a choice ground cover plant that spreads like soft, white clouds in spring covering dry, poor soil with a flowery mantle of sweetness. Plant 'Purity' Candytuft in your garden and imagine walking in spring with fluffy white clouds at your feet. Iberis is wonderful for "white gardens" and "moon gardens", or in combination with other colors.

Comments: Candytuft is a fine evergreen ground cover for a wide variety gardens. Foliage is about 1-inch long x 1/8 inch wide. Fragrant white flower clusters are produced in abundance beginning in spring and into summer. Mature height is 12 inches.

Candytuft prefers full sun to partial shade in USDA climate zones 3 to 9. Average well-drained garden soil with pH from 6.5. to 8.5 is sufficient, though Candytuft adapts well to a wide variety of soil types. It's drought-tolerant, too. Space the plants 15 inches to 18 inches apart.

Candytuft is an excellent ground cover for small to medium areas. In order to maintain a lush appearance, we recommend mowing these to 4 inches height after blooming.
