Comments: 'Black Parrot' is a late blooming Parrot tulip. The creation of a truly black tulip has been very elusive ever since tulips came into vogue during the 17th century.
"Black" tulips are actually very deep shades of purple or burgundy, but their attraction persists.

Plant outdoors at a depth that is 2-1/2 times the height of the bulb* and 4 inches to 6 inches apart, or 4 to 5 per square foot, in fall. They prefer full sun, and well-drained, organic soil in USDA climate zones 3 - 8.

Tulips are good for container gardens, perennial and bulb gardens. Gardeners in southern zones should pre-cool them before planting.

We begin shipping in September.

*Planting depth is measured to the base of the bulb.
