'Black Scallop' produces a dense carpet of glossy, dark burgundy foliage. Rounded leaves with scalloped edges surround spikes of violet-colored flowers in spring. 'Black Scallop' is mildew resistant, drought tolerant, deer resistant, and tolerates some foot traffic. Plant it as a lawn substitute, in container gardens, and between stepping stones.
